The US Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inducts Alexis Korner

Disney+ subscribers in the UK can see the induction of Ealing Club co-founder Alexis Korner into the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

He was honoured for his contribution to music in a star-studded ceremony on 17 October 2024.

Keith Richards presided over a video clip in which he recalled first becoming aware of Alexis Korner following a visit to the Ealing Club which Alexis Korner set up in March 1962 with blues harp maestro Cyril Davies.

It was in Ealing where, on 24 March 1962, Charlie Watts first met Brian Jones then, on 7 April 1962 Alexis Korner introduced Mick Jagger and Keith Richards to Brian Jones, and the nucleus of the Rolling Stones first came together.

And the Ealing Club is where the classic line-up of the Rolling Stones, with Charlie Watts on drums played for the first time in public, on Saturday, 12 January 1963.

Alexis’ induction can be seen 25 minutes in to the Hall of Fame broadcast which features pictures of Ealing Broadway, the Blue Plaque and the Ealing Broadway Station tube sign.
