The Rolling Stones remember the Ealing Club

On 12th January 2025, the official social media channels of Charlie Watts shared a post commemorating his first gig with the Rollin’ Stones. These posts were shared by The Rolling Stones across all social media.

That date at the Ealing Club was a key moment in the history of the band as it brought together for the first time the classic line-up of Mick, Keith, Brian, Bill and Charlie for the first time. Ian Stewart was also part of the line-up on piano.

The Rollin’ Stones continued with Ealing Club performances into March 1963. Subsequently, they would take up residency at The Crawdaddy at the Station Hotel in Richmond and then later move onto the Richmond Athletic Ground.

Charlie Watts began playing at The Ealing Club with Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated on the 17th March 1962. The same location that hosted Charlie attracted Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Mick & Keith who started to play with Blues Incorporated.
